I am not a soldier, but I think that this is a great way to help pay back the people that served for this country. With the economy the way it is, it is hard for many people to get a good credit card or mortgage. It is only fair that people that put themselves in harms way should get a chance to start their life. That is what NFCU.com is all about. It is one of the many services that the federal government employs to help out our veterans. I think that there is a lot more that we can do for our soldiers in addition to NFCU. The Navy Federal Credit Union is a big help, but I think that our soldiers should be given small starter homes to help jump start their life. I believe we should do a lot more for the people that have done everything for us.
The NFCU is a big step up though, and NFCU.com is very busy and has been seeing a lot of traffic especially since the phones went down due to power failure. Even if that didn’t happen, thousands of soldiers go to NFCU.com for their credit and banking needs. Credit Unions are a great benefit to a certain group of people that can join one. Most credit unions can only be joined if you have worked for a certain branch of the government. NFCU may be named the Navy Federal Credit Union, but it can still be joined by the Army, Air Force, and Marines.
It would be nice if I could belong to a credit union like NFCU.com. I am a huge fan of online banking, but I do not use it as much as I should. I really want to join an online only bank because of the benefits of better rates on just about everything. An online only bank is better than a traditional brick and mortar bank because the overhead is a lot cheaper. NFCU takes phone and web business, but I am not sure if they have actual branches. I just think that they have offices to run the bank online, but I don’t think that they have atm’s or branches throughout the country. If you are looking to bank through NFCU, than you should use NFCU.com as your main method of banking.
Has anybody here used NFCU or NFCU.com before? Is it easy to use and are the rates what you think that you deserve? Are you guys satisfied with the Navy Federal Credit Union, and are there any other options available for soldiers? How long has the NFCU been around for?
