ARPANET was the first form of the internet, which was funded by the government. I am not sure what was the first arpanet message, but I know it was in October of 1969. The Internet was created through research and was funded by the Government for Military Use. When the Internet first started, it was very slow and took days to transmit information. Now, we have High-Speed Internet that is faster than we can think.

Does anybody know what was the first arpanet message? It would be real cool if we could get some information on the start of the internet. I remember learning about ARPANET in school and I thought it was really cool to learn about the formation of the Internet.

I wish I had started blogging and creating websites when the internet was still new. I mean now, it is over filled, but back in the day I’m sure you could rank really well for a lot of keywords. I guess now we just have to look into the future. I don’t know what was the the first arpanet message, but whatever it was, I bet you it took at least a day to send the info. The internet has changed a lot since the days of ARPANET.

from wikipedia:
The first message ever to be sent over the ARPANET (sent over the first host-to-host connection) occurred at 10:30 PM on October 29, 1969. It was sent by UCLA student programmer Charley Kline and supervised by UCLA Professor Leonard Kleinrock. The message was sent from the UCLA SDS Sigma 7 Host computer to the SRI SDS 940 Host computer. The message itself was simply the word “login.” The “l” and the “o” transmitted without problem but then the system crashed. Hence, the first message on the ARPANET was “Lo.” They were able to do the full login about an hour later.
